Burkina Faso Mission Trip

Dear Family and Friends,
Hello! Because of your important role in my life, I want to share with you about a great opportunity I believe God is leading me to, but first, a short, little backstory: I have wanted to go on a mission trip since I was in high school. Up until now, I’ve made every excuse in the book to avoid going. This year, though, God has placed it heavily on my heart to trust Him and go. He has made it abundantly clear to me that this is not so much about me, but more about being His hands and feet, about serving Him, and about love.
So, I signed up to go on a short-term mission trip to Burkina Faso, Africa in the fall of this year. I will be going with a group from Monterey Church, which partners with Compassion International. On the trip, our group will visit the homes of children and families whose lives have been transformed and be immersed in the lives of the precious children served by Compassion. I’m excited to be challenged to understand a world outside myself that will open my heart and mind to what God is doing in Burkina Faso and around the world. I will even get to meet my Compassion kid! His name is Simeon and he’s four years old. I am excited for all that I will learn in the months leading up to the trip, during the trip, and after I return home.
If you are reading this, I am asking you to partner with me on this trip. The cost of the trip is $3,500. Please take a moment and prayerfully ask God what part He would have you play. He may ask that you simply pray for our group as we get ready to travel and for those in Burkina Faso who are suffering. He may ask that you pray for protection as we travel and for doors to be opened while we are abroad. Please know that I am incredibly humbled and grateful for your prayers.
