To the Members of The Body Of Christ,
We hope this letter finds you blessed, hopeful and prosperous in every way. Knowing fully well you’re an important part of the Body of Christ, we thought it needful to inform you about our big plans for the coming Year.
To get to the point, after spending over 2 decades of my life in Japan, working on the mission field has helped in awaking me to what really matters most in life. However, it was when I had to sit through 3 interviews just to join a church fellowship that I was really stirred up to this reality. Strange as it sounds, I was told to ‘leave my faith at the door’. This experience began to help me understand why the Body of Christ is struggling here.
In all sincerity, I can see and understand why so many missionaries here in Japan become so discouraged and pressured to abandon their spiritual post as watchmen. I firmly believe that this is one of the main reasons why God has called us to embark on a non-compromising mission that supports other missionaries, believers and pastors that are facing similar challenges. I can greatly empathize with how they feel and that is why we are preparing to do something about it. We believe that not one member of the Body of Christ should feel abandoned, alone and without hope while standing for the cause of Christ.
According to Ephesians 4:12 Paul encourages us “to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for the building up of the Body of Christ." In view of all these, we are about to take off on the responsibility of equipping the body through the Body of Christ Faith & Fitness Church.
This particular type of church will be designed especially for missionaries who are under the pressures of living in a ‘spiritual war zone’ with very little support. By the way, this war zone does not play fair. Just as the bible admonishes in John 10:10 which states that “the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy”.
As you may wonder, why Japan? Why missionaries are under the pressures of living in a spiritual war zone? Well, the following statistics can help you to get a simple understanding (or watch this video ):
· Japan: A country that boasts of a population of about 127 million people, less than 1% of these people are Christians!
· Over 21,000 Suicides happens every year
· Japan has been called a missionary graveyard.
· Missionaries: around 2,000 people. This implies that there is only 1 missionary for every 65,000 people, which is already down to 34% in 20 years while evangelical growth records a minus 0.4%
As a result of these challenges, Japan is considered to be the Graveyard of Missionary Dreams, particularly the missionaries who came here with the desire of making an impact for Heaven. For these reasons, my wife and I are now a part of this small minority of missionaries here that are called to be Ambassadors of Heaven. (Our Testimony )
With respect to all that has been highlighted, we would like to call upon your generosity and sense of passion for God's work as we invite you to partner with us by giving towards this initiative. In specific terms, we are embarking on a building project to serve as a base and facilitation center for the church.
Body of Christ Faith & Fitness Church, will not be your conventional or traditionally styled church that we are most familiar with. This building will consist of 3 floors that are specifically design to build up the Body of Christ in Spirit, Soul and Body.
This floor will be a physical fitness, nutrition and development center designed for missionaries, believers, pastors, and those who are interested in developing their bodies. Furthermore, this level of training will be basic training that parallels our spiritual training for the task ahead.
This floor will be an English communication & Self-development floor. Over the years this course has proven to win souls for the Lord. (About Bivin )
This floor will be for church and fellowship. This is not just open for church services only, it will be a classroom for teaching and training disciples, for spiritual warfare seminars and other Rooted and Grounded courses that support missionaries, pastors and believers. Here, we will learn how to bring in the harvest. Church services will be held on Saturdays for those who are interested in the Body of Christ.
Body of Christ Faith & Fitness Church will operate 6 days on, 1 day off. There will be No Interviews for Getting into the Faith & Fitness Church. All are welcomed!
