Peru Medical Mission Trip!

Hi Everyone!
I have been given an amazing opportunity to take part in a medical mission trip to Cusco, Peru this December. I will be with a group of fellow PA students from my graduate program at MCPHS University along with other health care providers. We will be opening a clinic in the city of Cusco to provide care for the community there because reliable health care can be hard to come by in the area.
In addition to helping open the clinic, I will be assisting physicians, PAs, and other health care providers in assessing and treating local patients. I will also be performing intake assessments, taking vital signs, running the pharmacy, dispensing medications, and educating patients.
The trip is 100% comprised of volunteers, so I'm raising money for the costs associated. This will include flights, lodging, food, medical equipment, and supplies. My group is raising money together for the medical equipment and supplies. It's looking like the trip will cost about $2,500 (flights - $900, room and board - $800, donation for medical supplies $800), so any money donated will go directly to those costs.
Hiking in Peru has always been one of my dreams, so I plan on backpacking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu while I'm there. I am personally going to pay any costs associated with that portion of the trip of course!
