Hi, my name is Jimmy, and I’m asking for help after losing my job under unjust circumstances.

I was terminated from my job after submitting sick leave to address mental health concerns. That sick leave was formally approved by my employer and paid. Despite this approval, I was written up each day of that sick leave as a “no call, no show.” On the fourth day, I was terminated for the exact dates I had already been granted.

The loss of income was immediate and overwhelming. I live alone, and without steady pay, I quickly fell behind on rent and essential utilities. In a town like Las Cruces, where job opportunities are limited, replacing income has proven far more difficult than expected, even while doing everything right.

What makes this even more devastating is that I am now on the verge of losing everything else I’ve worked so hard for. I have a storage unit containing the remaining inventory from my antiques and collectibles store, Divine Finds, which I proudly operated in Las Cruces for three years. While the store is no longer open, this inventory is more than just items,it represents years of hard work, passion, and the joy of building something meaningful. Because I cannot cover the storage fees right now, I risk losing it all.

This situation has become about more than job loss.

It’s about losing stability, losing a way of life, and losing the sense of security and peace I worked hard to create.

I am actively pursuing this termination through the proper legal channels, and I’m working tirelessly to find new employment. I apply daily, follow up on leads, and offer yard work and handyman services to earn what I can. Still, despite my best efforts, it hasn’t been enough to stop everything from unraveling at once.

giving me the breathing room I need to recover from a situation that was completely out of my control.
