Update: We have raised enough money for Nikolas first surgery that will be happening on Dec. 10th! We are still collecting donations for his second surgery to have the fixer removed (this will be used to lengthen Nikolas leg). We are still waiting for a cost estimate from the hospital.

Hi! My name is Valentina Valkova, and I m the mother of Nikola Dimov. Nikola is a bright, funny, and incredibly energetic child, born with femur deficiency type 1A and a leg length discrepancy of 5 cm. In 2019, when he was 4 years old, he underwent surgery at the Paley Institute in the USA to lengthen the bone with an internal fixator. This was followed by 12 weeks of physiotherapy at the same clinic. By 2020, his legs were of equal length, and the fixator was removed. In May 2025, after an examination by Dr. Paley in Poland, it was determined that the discrepancy was starting to increase, and a new leg lengthening of 4.5 cm should be performed by the end of the year. A date was scheduled for December 10, 2025, for the placement of a PRECICE NAIL internal fixator and 8 weeks of physiotherapy. The device will be removed in 2026. The total amount needed is $87,000 (not including the surgery to remove the device in 2026), which is beyond our family's financial means. Please give Nikola a chance to lead a fulfilling life with two equal feet and to continue enjoying carefree play, just like all other children. He loves to play football, dance, run, and jump.
