Fighting for Faith

As most of you know my 22 year old sister, Faith, was in a life-threatening accident this week. The man driving the vehicle merged completely into the oncoming lane hitting Faith’s jeep head on. The collision crushed the entire front end of the vehicle to a point of pinning her in such a way it took the Emergency Response Team over 90 minutes and cutting through the roof of the vehicle to extract her out. The entire time she was conscious and risked permanent injuries including extensive bleeding. Once she was extracted she was quickly transported to the University of Iowa Hospitals.
She suffered from a dislocated shoulder, dislocated elbow and broken bone to the forearm that needs repair. Her left leg tibia (shin) bone fractured completely through the skin and her ankle was also broken in half after being wrapped around the break pedal. Both of those are still needing extensive surgeries in the days to come.
I want to thank you all for the continued thoughts and prayers. I truly believe that’s what’s been most important in getting Faith through all of this.
Faith is currently a full time student at St. Ambrose, going to school to be a teacher. She works part-time at a nursing home, during whatever time she has left. This girl has a heart of gold and is always doing for others. I’m asking you, my friends and family, to come together and please help Faith out this time by donating anything you can. Anything helps. The simple sharing of this post will also go a long way towards helping Faith during this all. She will have medical bills, lawyer fees, and cost of daily living. We understand that her needs will be much greater than this but for the time being it will help take her immediate needs while she is hospitalized and an anticipated 6 months off from work.
Please continue to pray that the physical and mental trauma this girl has had to experience is something she will be able to navigate through and come out of on top.
