Katie's African Adventure in Ghana

Hi, my name is Katie, and I've made this page with my dad to tell you all about my upcoming adventure to Africa.

 

 

I am currently fundraising funds for the trip to Ghana in July 2022 with my school in collaboration with African Adventures.

The volunteering adventure will be a 10-day visit to the West African nation. It aims to improve the educational prospects in deprived areas of the country to benefit the local African school children and give we volunteers a taste of the life of school-age children in Africa.

 

 

On this trip, some fellow pupils and I from my school will join a volunteer community project helping to teach local Ghanaian children in their school classrooms or assisting in building new ones. I will be teaching them with the hope of developing new skills and confidence from this trip that can aid me later in life with my goal of becoming a teacher.

 

 

I intend to raise all the money required to undertake this trip, around £2000 in total. I am organising various local fundraising initiatives and opportunities, plus I will be asking some local businesses for sponsorship. In addition, I have started this page with my father to open things up to a broader audience worldwide.
