As socialists, humans, neighbors, and friends, we of the Party of Socialism and Liberation, are striving to do the most we can to stand in solidarity with the unhoused. The PSL struggles for a world that guarantees housing and employment to all. We fight for a new socialist system that will put power in the hands of the people and provide for everyone as they need it.
From blankets, batteries, food, clothes, toiletries, and heating resources, to ordering birth certificates and IDs, we have been doing what we can and building connections. Some of our members are getting certified as notaries to help people get their vital documents and sign up for aid.
But it all costs money and we need more supporters and comrades. We are asking for your financial and material aid, especially for heating through the winter months.
With these funds, we will continue to distribute goods to the unhoused residents of St. Louis to better equip as many as we can over these chilly winter months. These goods do more than even the life saving work of keeping people warm.
When there is enough, people share and assist each other. And this allows communities to form, cooperation and improvement to become the norm. PSL St. Louis will be building off of this drive to advance the causes of the unhoused, including demanding greater resources from the state and the right to improve their communities without police harassment.
In this for-profit capitalist society, it is up to us and only us, to aid each other in this struggle. Join us in creating a more caring and compassionate world.
