Home Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
On Friday, March 9th, the Wilcock/Francis home suffered a catastrophic fire due to an equipment malfunction with a space heater. As a result of this unfortunate incident, Mrs. Ruby Wilcock, 75 and her son Garfield Francis, 27, lost most of their belongings. Fortunately, they are both well and did not suffer any physical injuries during the fire. However, as a result, they are tasked with the overwhelming task of starting all over. This family has been a member of the Fernandina Beach community for over three generations with Mrs. Wilcock spending most of her life working in the medical field and still as off Friday, was working as a healthcare aid assisting local folks with their medical needs. Mr. Francis has spent his entire professional life as a member of the Fernandina Beach Animal Clinic assisting their veterinary team meet the animal health needs of our town. As a family that has shown complete devotion to the Fernandina Beach community, we find it appropriate to return in kind during their time of need. Please help us raise a startup fund to assist them with their most immediate needs as they start the process of rebuilding their lives. All proceeds will go to the family and will be used to provided them with immediate basic needs, like securing a new place to live, clothes, furniture and personal items. If anyone in the community has experience with this kind of situation and know of any special assistance available for this type of case, we would appreciate you sharing the information. See the link below for an news article detailing the incident: http://www.ncflindependent.com/2018/03/09/firefighters-battle-fernandina-beach-house-fire/
