Help PSA Become A Nonprofit
Donation protected
Hi and thanks for stopping by -
My name is Carlo Dall'Olmo and I am the founder and organizer of Phoenix Screenwriters Association (PSA). The goal of this crowdfunding campaign is to become a nonprofit organization.
Through PSA we provide much-needed support to the film and greater community that is not readily available. Whether putting on writing classes or hosting charity events for children, as a nonprofit we can further give back through our classes and causes.
What We Plan To Do As A Nonprofit:
When we obtain our nonprofit status, we plan to improve and grow the events that have made us successful thus far. One of the benefits of being a nonprofit is that we can solicit donations. With donations, we will expand our script and film analysis classes, screenwriting courses, industry conferences and mixers.
Our conferences are well known in the Valley. From screenwriting seminars to producing seminars to finding financing/investor workshops, we look at how best to help the screenwriter break into the industry. We have brought out speakers and instructors to teach and share their expertise. Some notable names include Tom Schulman (academy-award-winning screenwriter - Dead Poet's Society), Rima Greer (author and agent), Marc Evans (producer - Safe House, Oculus) and Adrian Ward (EVP film financing for Pacific Mercantile Bank).
Educational Classes:
We hold screenwriting classes taught by industry writers such as Jeff Schimmel (In Living Color), SS Wilson (Tremors), Randall Jahnson (The Doors and Mask Of Zorro), and Wayne Powers (The Italian Job and Deep Blue Sea). We have learned from some of the best which has, in turn, helped our Valley-area writers tremendously.
Networking Events:
We have industry mixers, table reads and cold reads for the local screenwriters and actors. We understand the importance of cultivating a vibrant film scene here in the Valley and have worked hard to make Phoenix a true film community.
Thanks again for taking the time to check us out.
Sincerely
Carlo

More information about PSA:
PSA started back in 2009 as a way to meet other writers in the Valley and exchange best practices on writing screenplays. What started as a social/screenwriting group (meeting to discuss our projects and socialize) quickly morphed into an educational/networking organization.
Through our film conferences and screenwriting classes, we’ve brought out some of the industry's top professionals to teach our members the art and craft of screenwriting. We've grown steadily through the years and have decided to take the next step and become a nonprofit company.
