https://youtube.com/shorts/P2KTKCDCy9Y?feature=share My name is Dariannys Alejos; I am 13 years old. I am Venezuelan, and I am writing to you because I need to raise funds for a leg and hip prosthesis. We are low-income, I have two little sisters, and my mother cannot afford the costs. I'm going to tell you my story... on Children's Day 2018, I was taking a shower, and I fell, I fractured my right femur, they told me they were going to operate on me, but something strange looked on the plate, and they decided to do a biopsy. And they said it was an infection; I lasted seven months with antibiotics, then they gave me the tests, and everything went well, then the doctors told me that they were going to operate on me. They took me to the Pediatric Hospital in Barquisimeto, and I was hospitalized for two months, but they still didn't want to do surgery. They did X-rays and echoes and said that the bone was making cays, and that's why they didn't. They took me home, but I was in a wheelchair... well, I lasted like this for months, and one day in 2019 my femur began to grow. Still, the doctors told me that it was expected, that it was because of the keys, but I had too much pain, and they had to take me to the hospital to give me pain medication, I live far from the hospital, and the bus stop is 15 blocks from my house, it was difficult to go there, but I couldn't stand the pain. In 2020, they did an MRI and it came out that I had cancer; I was devastated, but with the support of my family, I started chemotherapy, it was very strong; even at that time I was still in a wheelchair, my heart grew more and more tumor, they had to do a surgery on me in Caracas, we had no money for transportation or consultation. after obtaining the resources, they did the surgery on me at the J.M. from the rivers. They did a hemipelvectomy. They removed my right leg and part of my hip. We returned to Barquisimeto, I continued with chemotherapy, I finished my process, I beat cancer, thanks to God and the support of so many good-hearted people who helped me.
Today more than ever, I need your collaboration support for my prosthesis; I want to walk without crutches, continue my studies and be a professional! I want to be a testimony of faith and hope for my colleagues who continue to fight against this terrible condition.

I thank Fundacion Caly for supporting and following up on these noble causes that contribute to the growth of people with disabilities.
Thank you very much.
