Kitchens for Homeless Families and DV Victims

An Eagle Scout Project is a project in which a scout must organize a group of others to complete a task that benefits their community.

For my project, I am assisting Shelter House, a local organization of shelters for homeless families and victims of domestic violence.

Shelter House cares for and houses numerous homeless families and domestic violence victims every month. At the end of their stay, families are provided cost-effective housing to move into more permanently. These houses require many things before they can become homes for families and DV victims in need, but one often overlooked area is the kitchen.

Kitchen items can lead to enormous overhead costs for families who are already struggling and may not have the means to feed themselves otherwise. To combat this and provide crucial aid to these families, I am partnering with the Shelter House to assemble kitchen kits that can easily be transported with outgoing families.

To assemble these kits to assist Shelter House and the families they help, I need funding to acquire the supplies for the kits, including pots, plates, eating utensils, and many other things that families need to feed themselves.

The recommended donation is $70, the cost of a single kit, but all donations are greatly appreciated!

Our goal is to make 25 kits. Shelter House and I extend our utmost gratitude for your consideration and generosity.
