Let's Build a Bathroom!

Donation protected
Meredith Keasey is a close friend of mine who lives with her husband, Tim, and two children, Ryan and Shane, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As anyone who knows her would agree, she is one of the kindest (and funniest) people I have ever met; she lights up a room with her presence and always makes those around her feel special. We used to teach together and her students absolutely loved her; she is such a gifted teacher. On top of all that, she is a wonderful mother to her two sons.  I could go on and on about her!

About a month ago, Merideth received news that no one should ever have to receive: She has cancer.

At first, she was given a diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer. However, upon further testing,  cancer was found in her bones and spine which means it is stage 4. There is currently no cure. Her oncologist has estimated that she has a few years to live but is hopeful that a new drug will become available that she can try.

Based on that prognosis, the plan is aggressive chemo to shrink her tumors, followed by drugs to help control the cancer for the remainder of her life.

Meredith recently began this cancer treatment and is already feeling the major side effects of chemo. In her home, there is only one bathroom, and it is on the second floor. However, she spends most of her time on the main floor because it is difficult for her to move up and down the stairs. If she had a bathroom on the 2nd floor, it would make things much easier for her and her family.

The house they live in is over a 100 years old, so it is going to take a lot of work and money to accomplish this goal of putting in a bathroom on the main floor. The money raised here will be used to create a half-bathroom off of their kitchen.

Meredith and Tim are such generous people, and it would be so wonderful to be able to help them out in this way.

Any donation you could make would greatly help her families cause.

Thank you!
