Provide Refuge for a Refugee Family

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) has been helping people recover from conflict and disaster for over 80 years. In addition to their work around the world, they help refugees cleared for resettlement by the United Nations refugee agency and the US government restart their lives in America.
We're a small group of Salesforce employees from the Documentation & User Assistance team who are partnering with the IRC to sponsor a family relocating to the East Bay in Northern California, likely from Afghanistan. We've committed to raising at least $5000 to furnish their new home and provide financial support while they get settled. We'll also visit them weekly for six months to help them adjust to their new community.

Update: Because you are all so generous, we're going to assist 2 families, and have doubled the fundraising goal. The goal is now $10,000, so we can use $5,000 for each family.
