Hello, we're raising funds for an elderly man living in his car for the past month and a half outside of where I work. His car is packed with belongings from his apartment where his front seat is the only one that is open. He is 73 years old and will come inside the store now and then to use the restroom or fill his water bottle. We go over to help unplug the scooter for him; he has trouble moving around because he had polio when he was young, but it reemerged later in his life. It mostly affects his legs, making it hard for him to move easily.
What led him to live from his car was when he was planning to renew the lease at the apartment he was staying at, but the complex did not let him renew for the next year. He doesn't have enough money to put a deposit down on a new apartment, resorting to living in his car. He has three sons who are on a no-contact basis and unwilling to help. He is willing to work, but places are reluctant to hire him due to his circumstances and health.
Any donations would be given to him for when it gets cold outside, and he needs to get a hotel room to get through the night, food, toiletries, or medical care.
