<div>Gracias de corazón por todo su apoyo en la recaudación para la prótesis. Gracias a ustedes, hemos avanzado muchísimo. Al seguir organizando todo, nos dimos cuenta de que no habíamos considerado algunos gastos importantes, como terapias, enfermeros y ajustes de la prótesis. <div>Estoy de vuelta en casa, y con ello han llegado días intensos, de mucho aprendizaje y de un sinfín de emociones.

<div>Desde que decidí compartir mi historia y pedir ayuda, he pasado por momentos difíciles, pero también he sentido un cariño que me sostiene. Salí del hospital más débil de lo que esperaba, y cada paso con muletas me recuerda que mi cuerpo aún se está adaptando. Lo cotidiano se ha vuelto un reto, y la paciencia es ahora mi mejor aliada.

<div>Pero en medio de todo esto, he recibido mensajes que han tocado mi corazón. Amigos de los que no sabía hace años han aparecido con palabras de apoyo, de enojo ante la situación, de amor sincero. Y eso me ha permitido soltar un poco de lo que he llevado dentro, porque aunque trato de ser fuerte, hay momentos en los que también necesito dejarme sentir.

<div>Hoy finalmente me dieron de alta, y aunque el camino aún es largo, me siento muy agradecido porque la cicatrización va por buen rumbo. Durante las próximas 3-4 semanas estaré en casa, cuidando la herida con curaciones diarias y realizando algunos ejercicios para prepararme antes de regresar al hospital a que me retiren los puntos.

<div>No tengo palabras suficientes para agradecer todo el apoyo, las oraciones y la motivación que he recibido de tantas personas. <div>Jorge Rivas: Mi historia y la razón de esta campaña

<div>Hace unos días, mientras caminaba por la colonia Del Valle, fui víctima de un evento que cambió mi vida por completo. A pocos metros de donde me encontraba, ocurrió un atentado de homicidio; aunque no tenía ninguna relación con lo sucedido, una bala perdida me alcanzó en la rodilla.

<div>Tras el impacto, fui trasladado a una clínica privada, pero enfrenté múltiples trabas para recibir atención, ya que el hospital no quería la presencia de policías. Ante esta situación, terminé en el hospital Magdalena de las Salinas, considerado uno de los mejores en traumatología en Latinoamérica, donde han estado tratando mi lesión desde entonces.

<div>El disparo causó una polifractura en mi rodilla y un trombo en los vasos sanguíneos de mi pie, lo que comprometió gravemente la circulación en mi pierna. Durante los últimos días, los médicos han trabajado para restaurar la irrigación sanguínea y salvar la extremidad, pero en mi última cirugía detectaron una gran cantidad de músculo isquémico y necrosado. Esto nos llevó a la decisión más difícil: la amputación.

<div>Hoy, me encuentro en el proceso de recuperación y adaptación a esta nueva realidad. Por ello, estoy iniciando esta campaña para recaudar fondos que me ayuden a cubrir los gastos médicos y, en el futuro, adquirir una prótesis que me permita recuperar movilidad y calidad de vida. Siempre pone a los demás antes que a sí mismo y es realmente un ser humano excepcional. Nos sentimos afortunados de tenerlo en nuestras vidas. Después de que su madre tuvo un accidente en 2013, él se convirtió en su principal cuidador y tutor legal, ya que ella no puede ser socialmente independiente. Jorge ha estado verdaderamente dedicado a su cuidado.

<div>El pasado martes 11 de febrero 2025, Jorge fue víctima de una bala perdida durante un tiroteo en la colonia Narvarte. Simplemente estaba caminando cuando fue herido en la pierna.

<div>I’m back home, and with that have come intense days filled with learning and countless emotions.

<div>Since I decided to share my story and ask for help, I’ve gone through difficult moments, but I’ve also felt a kind of love that holds me up. I left the hospital weaker than I expected, and every step with crutches reminds me that my body is still adjusting. The everyday has become a challenge, and patience is now my greatest ally.

<div>But in the midst of all this, I’ve received messages that have truly touched my heart. Friends I hadn’t heard from in years have reached out with words of support, anger at the situation, and sincere love. <div>Today, I was finally discharged from the hospital, and while there’s still a long road ahead, I’m incredibly grateful that the healing process is going well. Over the next 3-4 weeks, I’ll be at home, taking care of the wound with daily dressings and doing some exercises to prepare before returning to the hospital to have my stitches removed.

<div>Jorge Rivas: My Story and the Reason for This Campaign

<div>A few days ago, while walking through the Del Valle neighborhood, I became the victim of an event that completely changed my life. Just a few meters from where I was, an attempted homicide took place. Although I had no connection to what happened, a stray bullet hit me in the knee.

<div>After being shot, I was taken to a private clinic, but I faced multiple obstacles in receiving medical attention because the hospital did not want police presence. Due to this, I ended up at the Magdalena de las Salinas hospital, which is considered one of the best trauma hospitals in Latin America. They have been treating my injury ever since.

<div>The gunshot caused multiple fractures in my knee and a blood clot in the vessels of my foot, severely compromising circulation in my leg. Over the past few days, doctors have worked to restore blood flow and save my limb, but in my most recent surgery, they discovered a large amount of ischemic and necrotic muscle. This led us to the most difficult decision: amputation.

<div>Today, I am in the process of recovery and adapting to this new reality. That is why I am launching this campaign to raise funds to help cover medical expenses and, in the future, acquire a prosthetic limb that will allow me to regain mobility and quality of life.
