Zach Adams has joined forces with Team Ange and America’s Disaster Reaction Team to secure personal protection equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers fighting on the front lines. By raising funds to provide critically needed N95 masks, we can protect and support Local Heroes and enable them to go the distance in the RACE AGAINST COVID-19.

For Zach, this is personal. His wife and sister are nurses; and his other sister is a doctor. He’s furious and terrified over their lack of protection as his loved ones fight to save lives.

As an athletic trainer and triathlon competitor, Zach coaches endurance athletes to reach their personal best. His goal is to run 50 miles, which will be his new personal record. Will you help make these miles count? Every mile he runs and every dollar you pledge will help stop the spread of this deadly virus.

Zach is inviting you to make a pledge per mile and times it by 50 miles. For example, a 50 cent per mile pledge would be a donation of $25.00. No per mile donation is too small to make a difference. He will report back upon the conclusion of his marathon.

Thanks to the generosity of donors thus far, as of March 30th we've purchased 1,255 protective masks; and an additional 1,000 with a contribution received prior to the start of this campaign.

Team Ange*  is back in action and teaming up with America's Disaster Reaction Team (ADRT) to raise  funds to purchase protective masks for local healthcare workers fighting on the frontline in the war on Covid-19. 

New Jersey now has the second highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country, while protective medical gear, especially N-95 masks which filter out at least 95 percent of airborne particles of this highly contagious virus, are in extremely short supply -- leaving those exposed to the virus while caring for patients at risk.

Southern New Jersey is preparing for a surge in patients as the number of Covid-19 cases climb. Team Ange/ADRT  is being proactive in an effort to secure masks for local use during a widespread shortage that is seeing countries and states compete against each other to purchase masks in order to cope with the pandemic.

 We were able to find a manufacturer committed to selling masks to grassroots groups like ours who can’t compete with governments and large institutions to secure and purchase supplies. But, time is running out.

Our goal is to ultimately raise $100,000 to purchase 25,000 masks for use by healthcare workers in private practice who work within six feet of known coronavirus positive patients. Your contribution of just $4 for one mask has the potential of protecting countless lives.

Our grassroots effort will equip medical professionals in our community with masks they are unable to secure on their own. This includes private practices  who must continue to treat sick patients, most often those vulnerable to contracting and suffering the most severe effects of the virus. They are at risk. We need to protect them so they care for other and save lives.

“I have been fortunate enough to be a physician in the South Jersey region for 10 years. I love my job and love my patients. I thank you all for your personal sacrifice to fight this pandemic. I am requesting assistance in protecting our frontline healthcare providers, their patients, their families and our community.  We have learned from other communities that the ripple effect of the spread is insidious. This virus is aggressive. The threat is imminent. The fact is, we as a healthcare system are not prepared.  Although our government and the media are reporting that PPE is being shipped in large quantities, we on the frontline continue to work with limited protection, reusing masks for days at a time; masks we are supposed to change with each patient. In times of dire need like this one, small grass roots efforts can fill a short-term void while larger hospital systems mobilize en mass. This is where we need you. Please help our healthcare workers help you. If we get sick the entire healthcare infrastructure will collapse like we are witnessing in Italy. We can and will get through this together.”

 *About Team Ange - In 2010 a small group of local South Jersey healthcare professionals and volunteers quickly mobilized a medical mission to provide care and supplies to victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Now Team Ange is working together on a mission to raise funds to fight against a global pandemic as it hits home. Ange means angel in Creole. Our healthcare workers are today’s earth angels. They are out there fighting for us every day and we need to protect them! We have to take care of these angels so they are there for all of us who need them now, or may need them in the future.
