Protecting Eline & Eli

Donation protected

On January 6th at approximately 8pm Eline Kinn 25 and her son Eli, who is newly three years old, were eating dinner in her apartment in Wilmington, North Carolina when Matthew Stallings, her husband, whom she has been separated from since this past summer, kicked her door in, walked in with two knives in hand and proceeded to stab her more than 15 times while their son screamed in horror.

He grabbed their son and went to leave the apartment with him when he saw her trying to seek help from a neighbor. He then handed Eli to a neighbor, ran after her and threw her over the second story breezeway railing and ran. Police and EMS responded after multiple calls from other residents at the apartment complex.

She was taken to a near by hospital in critical condition and admitted to the ICU with multiple stab wounds, several to her neck, and two collapsed lungs. She immediately went into surgery where they had to repair her carotid artery so she did not bleed out. She is currently in stable condition but is unable to do more than speak.

Matthew has a record that precedes him with multiple assaults on various women and felony drug charges. He is currently being held at the New Hanover County Jail awaiting  trial on a 5 million dollar bond.

Now beings a long process physical healing, therapy to get her body functioning fully again and court proceedings to try and keep Eline and Eli safe. She has medical bills that will need to be paid. Lots of her belongings will need to be replaced and she will need to keep her attorneys on retainer.

Eline is a loving mother who has been making every effort to protect herself and her child. Just the day before she had hired an attorney to try and help her file a protective order after the court system denied her first attempt. She felt scared and unsafe for herself and her child.

She is not from the states and is trying make it home safely to her family with her son so then can begin to heal and build new beginnings in a safe and healthy environment.

Any donations are greatly appreciated and will help tremendously.
