<div><strong>transparency, accountability, and integrity</strong> within our Nation’s governance. I am grateful to have the support of many Tahltan’s who stand with me in this challenge. Their faith, wisdom, and courage empower me in this fight for truth and fairness.

<div><strong>Why I Am Bringing This Forward</strong>

<div>In 2025, <strong>I challenged</strong> the Tahltan Central Government (TCG) Election after <strong>witnessing serious issues </strong>that raised deep concerns about whether the voting process was fair, secure, or properly managed. These concerns included:
</div>
<div>•	Unsecured ballots left exposed in an open office.
</div>
<div>•	Repeated warnings to both the Election Officer and TCG’s legal counsel that were ignored before the vote concluded.
</div>
<div>•	Members turned away because records falsely showed they had already voted online.
</div>
<div>•	No ID verification at in-person voting stations.
</div>
<div>•	Several issues with Voting Pins.
</div>

<div>Despite <strong>multiple formal complaints </strong>to Tahltan Central Government, <strong>no independent investigation </strong>was ever launched. These issues matter because the TCG makes decisions that <strong>affect our people, our lands, our waters, and our future generations</strong>. When elections are not conducted properly, trust is broken, and the legitimacy of those decisions is called into question.

<div><strong>A Call for Long-Overdue Reform</strong>

<div>Tahltan members have been asking for change for years. At the <strong>2022 Annual General Assembly</strong>, our membership passed a resolution calling for:

<div>•	A Tahltan <strong>Election Committee</strong>
</div>
<div>•	A formal <strong>Election Code</strong> to guide future elections
</div>

<div>These important reforms—meant to protect our democratic process—were never implemented. Now, the same flawed procedures are being used again, including for a <strong>very important upcoming vote on the Skeena Eskay Creek Impact Benefit Agreement</strong>, which carries major environmental, cultural, and social implications for our Nation.

<div>Before decisions of this magnitude move forward, the system must be fixed.

<div>This case, brought before the <strong>Supreme Court of British Columbia</strong>, aims to:

</div>
<div>•	Implement the long-promised Election Code and establish the Election Committee.
</div>
<div>•	Protect the rights, voices, and votes of all Tahltan members.

<div>•	Restore trust in an electoral system meant to serve every member of our Nation.
