Mi chiamo Shaza e sono Co-Fondatrice di Hummustown.
Negli ultimi due anni a Roma, con il nostro progetto abbiamo cucinato, iniziato e sviluppato un’attività di catering e abbiamo insegnato a molte persone i segreti della preparazione dei cibi siriani.
Tutto è iniziato due anni fa, quando grazie alla generosità tua e di molti amici, abbiamo raccolto il denaro sufficiente a realizzare una cucina industriale che oggi è la nostra casa, ma anche il cuore e l'anima di Hummstown.
E’ in questa cucina che accade la magia!
Quando riceviamo il tuo ordine, lo prepariamo con amore utilizzando ingredienti della migliore qualità, poi lo confezioniamo ed infine lo consegniamo.
Con la crescita e l’espansione però, la consegna è diventata, il momento critico dell’attività, per questo ancora una volta, oggi chiediamo il tuo sostegno e la tua generosità.
L’ obiettivo è raccogliere fondi per acquistare il furgone per le nostre consegne; ma non ci accontenteremo di un furgone qualsiasi, il nostro dovrà essere ELETTRICO!
La filosofia Hummustown ha un punto fermo: nessuna nostra azione dovrà avere un impatto negativo sul pianeta.
Tutto ciò che facciamo è sostenibile: usiamo imballaggi biodegradabili, evitiamo di acquistare alimenti confezionati in plastica, differenziamo correttamente i nostri rifiuti e ora, vogliamo assicurarci che quando trasportiamo il nostro cibo per te, sia privo non solo di additivi, sostanze chimiche e cattivi ingredienti, ma anche di qualunque traccia di carbonio.
Tutto ciò che riceverai, sarà prodotto con amore, e distribuito con energia pulita e rinnovabile.

Hello, ciao and marhaba! We are Hummustown, an full-fledged Syrian Catering Cooperative born in Rome from compassion. Created to help Syrians integrate into their host community and build new lives, we provide occupation, skills and training to those whose lives have been disrupted while bringing Syrian food and culture to the wider world.
For the last two years we have been cooking and catering and teaching others how to cook Syrian food here in Rome. Two years ago, thanks to your generosity, we raised enough money to get an industrial kitchen which is now our home and the heart and soul of our project.
Here is where the magic happens. When we receive your order we prepare it with love using the best quality ingredients before packaging and delivering it to you.
As we grew and expanded, delivery has now become our bottle neck, and once again, we are asking for your support and generosity.
We want to raise money to purchase our own delivery van. But not just any van, an electric van.
Hard-coded in the Hummustown philosophy is a fundamental guide: nothing we do will have a negative impact on the planet. Everything we do is sustainable. We use biodegradable packaging, we avoid buying food packaged in plastic, we throw our garbage in the right bins, and now, we want to make sure that when we get our food to you, it is not only additive, chemical and nasty ingredients- free, but that it’s also carbon free. Produced with with love, delivered with renewable energy.
