Please help us raise funds to preserve our quality of life in Archbald Borough from data center development. Data centers are large facilities that house computer equipment. This technology requires 24/7 cooling, which creates noise and uses an immense amount of energy and water. One facility can use as much power as the Invenergy natural gas plant and as much water as 50,000 people. As of 9/11/25, at least two applications for data centers have been submitted, and the borough has a draft ordinance that would allow for four more areas for data centers. Many of these data centers would be right in residential areas and impact our quality of life.
We hosted a community discussion about this, and one of the things that came out of the meeting is that we would like to hire a consultant to navigate this process. These funds will be used to support the community’s advocacy in the data center discussions, which may include hiring professional help, purchasing supplies like signs and buttons, etc.
Please donate to our cause if you would like to help protect the Archbald that we know and love.
Time is of the essence. The public hearing for the zoning amendment is September 29th. Let’s reach our goal by Friday, September 19th at 4:00 pm. We appreciate anything you have to give!
Sincerely,
The Archbald Neighborhood Association and Concerned Residents
