<div>My name is April, and I’m a mom just trying to raise my children in peace. But that peace was shattered the day we moved into our home in the Shores neighborhood of Ocala, Florida.

<div>Since Day One, our next-door neighbor has targeted us with nonstop racial harassment, screaming slurs from her porch, telling us we don’t belong in the neighborhood, and poisoning the air with her hate.

<div>Then recently, it got violent. She sprayed bear spray at me and my babies. My 3-year-old and 6-year-old were directly hit.

<div>Imagine the pain. Imagine the fear. Imagine your babies screaming while someone who hates the color of their skin attacks them for existing.

<div>I’ve called the police before, but they didn’t act until this happened. Now she’s finally been arrested and charged with 3 counts of battery. But I know this isn’t over. She’ll be out soon, and I truly fear what she might do next.

<div>We can’t stay here. I don’t want to wait for this situation to escalate even further. The neighbor has previous history of this behavior, she pulled a gun out on other neighbors stating she owed the neighbor a death wish once police arrived. Since this has occurred I have been in the hospital for 5 days with a stress induced heart attack.
