The Toowoomba Women's Collective Inc. is a group of passionate and caring women who have joined forces to advocate and action change for vulnerable women in the Toowoomba Region. Single older women in housing crisis or experiencing homelessness are the fastest growing group nationally. We have decided to take action, make some noise and support women in our community.
Our goal is to respond to a lack of appropriate facilities for vulnerable women by creating a safe day space for those who may be sleeping in cars, sleeping rough or in unsafe situations. We will provide showers, laundry facilities, meals, case management , dignity, emotional and practical support along with direct referrals to a range of health and housing options to reduce their episode of homelessness. This program has been named PROTEA PLACE.
Protea Place is a true community response to a growing social crisis that is getting BIGGER not BETTER.
To make it happen we need your help. We aim to raise $125,000 of seed funding by the 30th June 2019 to get up and running ans start making a difference in the lives of women without a home.
Your donation will go DIRECTLY to the cause and you get to be a part of an initiative that transforms lives and assists women to get back on their feet.
