Hi my name is Kaytlyn Bashon/Peterson,
I am looking to start raising funds for Animals/Rescues/Shelters in need!
Currently, I am working along side a rescue as a volunteer that I'm realizing needs a lot more help than I expected. In order for it to become a Seen & Successful rescue!
I want to help this rescue get the correct set up to run smoother and be able to get more adoptions. These dogs/cats don't ask for much. The least I can do is help them get more attention so maybe they will have a shot at getting adopted.
This rescue is in need of a better set up and the goals are as follows...
- To complete a building that is already on site for Meet & Greets & Adoption Paperwork.
This building is in need of electrical work and some inside work.
- To clean up and redo a private road that leads to the rescue along with creating a parking lot area so more people can come and see the dogs/cats available for adoption.
This private road does have other land owners on it so I am unsure of how that would work? But the Rescue is located at the base of this road and with our crazy weather it keeps washing out the road and causing large holes which makes it difficult to drive in or out of.
- Storage Space to hold Adoption Event Supplies & keep it out of the weather.
Something that can Hold approximately 20 kennels of different sizes, fold up chairs, X large Canopy (Shade for dogs) & tables.
- A Isolation building for new intakes (Dog & Cat Sections)
Any Shelter/Rescue should have an isolation building or area to hold any animal that comes to them for 2+ wks to make sure that animal is not contagious to others. As well as having that animal temperament tested so when it is moved out of isolation it can be placed correctly.
- A L shaped building that is an indoor/outdoor access for the dogs
This will be a large building in an L shape located on the property that people can walk through to view the dogs. In turn this building will be a shelter with indoor/outdoor access for the dogs. So should they want to go lay outside they can, if they prefer to be inside in AC they have that option also.
With this being said I am working with the rescue to improve the monthly goals and adoption goals. As I am seeing for myself first hand how much help/attention they don't receive. Which only hurts the Dogs/Cats that need homes.
I believe every rescue can succeed with the proper support & structure it needs. An that is what I strive to do!
Help this rescue get on its feet again to help get these animals noticed and adopted in what I hope is their forever home!
