Project Streetwear Fashion Show 2015:
The Elements of Fashion

On April 19th, 60 young fashion students will present their original designs and custom-made garments at Sunnyside Artworks' annual Project Streetwear Fashion Show.

We are seeking to raise $5000 to fund this year's show. We need staging and drapery, additional runway pallets, and lighting and sound equipment. Your contribution will help create a better show for this year's designers, models, and audience, and will benefit future students as well.

From our humble beginnings of 11 students in 2010, more than 100 girls and boys have graced our runway. This year's show is a celebration of the elements of design. From ancient philosophical theory to modern necessity, the elements of design are the tools we use to create our wardrobe. The Elements of Fashion illustrates how we use these tools to create our own uniqueness.

The annual event will take place on Sunday, April 19th at Queen of Angels Auditorium in Sunnyside, NY. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door.

Bonita Kline, director of Sunnyside Artworks, is a Master of Design from the University of Cincinnati where her thesis work focused on challenging traditional practices in teaching of the translation between two- and three-dimensional design. She spent 25 years in the garment industry as a Design Director working with both Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. In recent years, Bonita has been teaching sewing and design through the Sunnyside Artworks program. When not in the sewing studio, Bonita focuses on her continuing development in clay sculpture and has recently been cited as an emerging artist in that field.
