I just wanted to give a quick update on my wife Eva’s family. They are in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
First, thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
This is all that we know at this time:
Things are much worse than the news shows. This was the worst hurricane hit ever to Puerto Rico. The island is mowed over.
Relief through plane and boat is scarce. Unlike Houston, with an infrastructure Puerto Rico is out in the middle of the ocean so things cannot be trucked in.
Airport is shut down except for military access.
Evi's family is alive, but low on water.
Some of her family have houses, some were destroyed completely.
Her immediate family is her 82 year old dad and her brother, they are trapped in their home, low on water no electricity, no phone. There are street fights for food and water, and as you can imagine looting is rampant. It’s a very desperate, third-world situation on the island.
Prayers and donations welcomed and accepted, we have a GoFundMe account set up for them. It’s a long road ahead and so much is uncertain, but if you can help it would be much appreciated. We have lot’s to be thankful for here in the good ole USA compared to the rest of the globe. Please do your part to help the Puerto Rican people.
Only God knows what the future holds for them, the experts are saying months or even years to rebuild.
