In a time when support can feel uncertain for immigrant communities, it is more important than ever for us to uplift one another. Many immigrant and first-generation students are facing real challenges like feeling unsafe, navigating difficult circumstances, and struggling to find the financial resources to continue their education. Despite this, they continue to push forward with resilience and hope. I want students to know they are not alone. With the support of the community, we can get through these times together, and one day, these struggles will become part of powerful stories of perseverance.

Project Open Doors was created from a dream: the belief that access to higher education should not be limited or out of reach for overlooked communities. It is a reminder that we do not have to wait for opportunities to be handed to us; we can create them for ourselves and for others. Through fundraising, community partnerships, and the support of programs like Sadie Nash, this initiative aims to provide meaningful scholarship awards that empower immigrant and first-generation students in Newark to pursue college and fulfill their visions for the future.

This scholarship is more than financial support; it is an investment in students who have demonstrated academic dedication, strength, and the potential to lead and give back. Let us build a community where immigrant students don’t just survive, but truly thrive. Your donation, no matter the amount, helps open doors, create opportunities, and turn dreams into reality. Together, we can open doors and keep them open for others.
