The idea for Project Little Warriors came at the beginning of the year with the dream of incorporating yoga and mindfulness into the Camden City school district full time and the hope that years down the line it would be implemented into school districts across the country.
The inspiration came from working with 11 year old boys in a Behavioral Disability classroom in the city of Camden and seeing the positive impact it had on their lives after only a short period of time.
Yoga and mindfulness is a healthy, natural way of channeling children's energy to clear their minds, focus, and deal with their emotions in a healthy way. School should not just be a place to learn how to go to college; it should be a place where children are given tools to live a productive and healthy life.
I am on the board of this Non-profit and 100% of the money will be used for the organization. There are many costs including, but not limited to: yoga mats, printing supplies, insurance, waivers, certifications, etc.. Keep in mind that there will be over 500 kids per school so the costs are adding up very quickly.
The children in the school systems will benefit as well as the volunteers who have the opportunity to positively impact their lives.
