Project Linus of East Tennessee

Donation protected
Project Linus of East Tennessee is a chapter of the national Project Linus organization (501c3).  We have over 500 volunteers that make over 2500 blankets annually to donate to children in traumatic situations such as children that are in the hospital, undergoing chemo or other medical therapies, abused or in a domestic violence situation, in the foster care system, burned out of their homes, lost a loved one in military service to our country, lost a loved one in service to our communities (police, emergency responders, fire fighters, etc.) and more.  These blankets provide a warm security "hug" to these children at a time in their lives when they need it most.  Project Linus also provides volunteer opportunities to everyone from children in scout or church groups, teens/young adults providing community service to qualify for scholarships, adults (including seniors)looking for a way to give back to their community, and others.  Project Linus of East Tennessee is seeking funds to help buy blanketmaking materials for volunteers that are unable to do so, to host outreach events to recruit new/more volunteers, to print and mail the newsletter (for those that don't get email), and more.  I (Deb Miller) am the chapter coordinator for Project Linus of East Tennessee.  I do not receive financial compensation - I do this because it is my passion to serve children in traumatic situations.)  All funds will be spent in accordance with Project Linus guidelines to benefit the work of this worthwhile charity.  More info at www.projectlinuseasttn.org and www.projectlinus.org .
