PROJECT KIN'S CHRISTMAS APPEAL

Donation protected
EXCITING UPDATE!
Wow, we are amazed and so very thankful to those who have supported Project KIN ™️ this month!
So far you have sponsored an incredible 65 children with Play and Learn packs this Christmas AND one generous family has very kindly funded the entire re-print of our storybook, including copies of a NEW boy version of the book!

THE COMMUNITIES
We were originally aiming to gift 75 packs across two communities this Christmas, however as we learnt more about the needs of the two communities this number has had to change.

We are now linked to 97 Kids In Need, which is wonderful and something to celebrate!
But financially, we need to step out in faith that the remaining funds will be met.

Our GoFundMe target will be increasing a little so that we can cover of these additional packs. But first, let us share with you some details about the COMMUNITIES who are receiving Play and Learn packs this Christmas

13 children are from a disadvantaged refugee community living in South-West Sydney
Along with 84 disadvantaged Indigenous children living in Western Sydney

OUR APPEAL TO YOU:
Of the total 97 children we will be gifting to this Christmas, 65 have been sponsored through our generous supporters and this GoFundMe campaign -------> however 32 children still need a pack sponsor

That means our Christmas target has had to grow a little, from $5,000 to $6,056.

The exciting news is that you have helped us raise $4,505 of this already, but we need $1,551 to bring us home and get those remaining 32 packs funded

PARTNER WITH US
Want to sponsor a child in need this Christmas?
It's easy-  ❇️
1) Fund one of the remaining packs for only $48
2) We'll prepare it  ️
3) We'll see it hand delivered to a child in need this December
4) Join our supporters list so we can send you a thank you card in the mail and email you an update when your pack has been gifted

If you’d like a tax deductible receipt for your donation, please contact us before donating to GoFundMe so we can walk you through that process, as it will need to go through another way, but will still be counted towards the target.

Many thanks,

(Original)

Since April this year we have gifted 130 Play and Learn packs to:
* children who have fled from domestic violence
* marginaliased and low socio-economic families
* refugees living in Sydney
* and recently we partnered with our friends at Dignity Africa to see 75 packs go to orphans in Uganda (like the gorgeous girl below).

This Christmas we want to reach out to people in our nation who are suffering. In Australia, there are over 25,000 displaced people. When a person's life (and in particular a child's life) has been uprooted and their world has been flipped upside down, it is important they know they are loved and that they have a place in this world.

OUR MISSION
Project KIN is a community-centered charity helping children play and learn.

OUR VISION
To see a world where women are sewing God’s love and kindness into the lives of kids in need helping them to know that they are specially made by God and have an eternal friend in Jesus.

THIS CAMPAIGN
This Christmas we want to gift our resources to displaced families through partner organisations, churches and community play groups across Australia.

A Play and Learn pack includes a handmade doll, doll quilt and accessories, our storybook 'Imagine if you had a Friend' and an activity set. These resources promote educational and imaginative play, teach the gospel, teach self-care, express a child’s value, aid emotional development and provide fun in the home.

Project KIN is 100% powered by volunteers. We have over 400 women involved in our handmade community, all donating their time, skills and resources to help kids in need. Some sew, some knit and others crochet the handmade components of our packs. Here are some of their beautiful creations.

WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THIS $5,000?
When you partner with us in this Christmas Campaign you will help us to:
- gift 75 Play & Learn packs to kids in need ($3,600)
- complete a boy version of our storybook 'Imagine if you had a Friend' so that we can better connect with male beneficiaries. The illustrations are done, the book design is almost ready, but we need the funds to see it printed in time to go in our Christmas packs ($1400).

IF YOU HELP US SMASH THIS TARGET?
Any further donations will go directly towards gifting additional packs this Christmas and if you help us reach $10,000+ we will be able to begin developing a Baby version of our Play and Learn pack, which will include a smaller version of the Project KIN doll and doll quilt as well as a baby board book version of our storybook- all of which we know will be greatly received by the communities we are working with.

WE NEED YOUR HELP
We are turning to you Australia. Raise your hand if your're ready to help us help kids in need this Chritsmas.

Some of our most amazing supporters have been children! In July 2017 Ethan (aged 6) saw his mum volunteering for Project KIN. Ethan was immediately determined to help too. He wanted to fund a Play and Learn pack for a little boy. So together they made food to sell and once he had raise enough money he went onto the Project KIN website and sponsored a pack in his name. He was over the moon! He said to his mum: "Now a boy can have a toy, Mummy".  This project has seen some amazing kids compelled to help other kids.

If you have children why not tell them about Project KIN and encourage them to help a child who may not receive a Christmas gift this year? Every dollar counts towards making a change in a child's life today. We are all for children impacting the lives of other children!
