You may not be aware, but we house over 20,000 objects, memorabilia and documents at the Phillips-Dawson House. For the past three years we have been able to exhibit many of the items, which are part of our collections. But, unfortunately over the years we have not had the funding or staff to place all of these items in archival material, have them cataloged or accessible to the public. However, this is our goal over the next year!
The time spent and materials needed are well beyond our budget. We are asking for your help, because we cannot accomplish this mission without you. All funding received will go specifically to this task and we will give updates throughout the process to let everyone know where we are and how the funding has been used. This work is vital in preserving what we are so privileged to house here at the Suffolk-Nansemond Historical Society headquarters.
