Project Feed The Village

I've been farming for 34 years and feeding metropolitans in 5 states (Southern Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio; Kentucky; and Middle Tennessee) for 17 years (CSAs), but I surely cannot get one thing straightened out. Increase more farmers (Producers) & more locavores (Eaters that eat for health). Oh yeah, I haven't reached my goal of a full-scale gleaning farm either (for the future, but not right now). Right now, we need an at-cost-approach. By this I mean for $1 a week will help us deliver 30 pounds of fresh-sourced-verified fruits & vegetables to people for free (actually a $1 match from the customer). In theory, if 16 000 people sent just $1 it is applicable that $16k could be used to cultivate food subscriptions for 100-150 families and those limited-resourced men, women, and children could receive a basket quality foods weekly or until our funding is depleted.

Of course it takes more than 16 000 to FEED THE VILLAGE but these funds will help us ensure that we have ample start-up monies for one six-month season to place the product in the ground only to then harvest it every week in order to fill the 30-pounders (produce boxes). All labor and variable & fixed costs of production will be covered by other member-sponsors of our farm, A Taste of Jewell Farm.
