Bring Therapeutic Creating to
Those who Need it Most
As a child and teenager I dealt with many grown-up issues and circumstances. Art was a safe space for me. Even as an adult, when I didn't have words to express the way I felt, or someone to talk to about those feelings, I learned to turn to art again.
Fast forward years later, I decided to leave my profession in the medical field, and pursue my passion for art. I have established a business on selling my art and art classes & events. I love doing this, I never imagined I would be so lucky!
I have found myself wanting to do more though. I see a need for kids to create, who may not be able to come to a class for financial reasons, transportation limitations, time limitations, or other reasons. These are the kids that need the escape of creating the most. I want to create a safe-space for kids to get away from the harsh reality for a while, just to listen to music, and get lost in creating for a while. The day to day issues of dealing with either a sick parent, going through treatment, an addicted parent, a depressed parent, can be very destructive to a child's mental stability. Therapeutic Creating can be one small escape.
If you would like to help, even with the smallest donation, it could make a HUGE difference in someone's life. I have spoken to many people who wish they had some sort of outlet when dealing with trauma as a child. We are all human, and we all need creative outlets of one kind or another. I appreciate any help you could give, especially the shares! We have so much power in spreading an idea or project with social media that we never had before!
The goal is to open a non-profit in 2020 but I'd like to get things moving as fast as possible with your help!
