Professional Trauma Therapy for Emma

Tax deductible
"Emma – 21 – Texas Emma is just now learning how to dream. After her father abandoned her family, everything began to crumble. She lived in at least 25 places in her childhood including foster homes, homeless shelters, cars and group homes. The norm was lack of electricity, water, and food. A gas station shower was typical. She counts more than 28 schools she attended in these years. However, Emma is an over comer. She is in college pursuing a bachelors of integrated studies with a desire to eventually get a Master's degree in social work. Emma is working for a non-profit that helps kids who are facing the same challenges she overcame as a child. Her friends describe her as a funny, vivacious, deep thinker who cares deeply. Emma knows that in order to truly be able to help others, she needs deep healing from the past. She dreams of having intensive trauma counseling, something she could never afford to give herself. Cost of Dream -- $2950" (copied from the Dream Makers Website) Hi. My name is Christina Schwuchow, I am 23 years old and I reside in Germany. I have been through severe trauma myself and am currently on sick leave through state authority. In this time I am focused on my own trauma therapy as more and more triggers and trauma itself come to the surface. I am very blessed to have a christian trauma therapist who doesn't charge more than I can give. So, why this Fundraiser? Who is Emma? Well, I don't know much more about Emma than her name. She applied to the same non-profit organization that I applied to. America's Kids Belong. And to be more specific their branch Dream Makers who - like the name reveals - fulfill dreams of aged out foster youth and youth that is most likely to end up without any support. I have been homeless. I know what trauma feels like. It's the worst thing ever. Since I have been able to start trauma therapy myself and I see how impactful it can be once you want to deal with your emotions, I would love to make this dream come true for Emma. Honestly, I don't need to know more. Skin color, faith, education doesn't matter to me. The person does. God bless every cheerful giver. I can't do this on my own. Sincerely, Christina Schwuchow What GoFundMe knows about AKB: America's Kids Belong empowers leaders in government, faith-based, business, and creative sectors to end the crisis for kids in foster care - state by state. We run innovative initiatives in states to help ensure that every child is in a loving home by: recruiting more foster and adoptive families, engaging wrap-around support for at-risk, foster and adoptive families along the way, and helping youth who have aged out without a family reach their full potential.
