Professional Recording for Young Musicians
Donation protected
I have been playing music from the age of seven, and very quickly I knew it was what I wanted to devote my life to. At eleven years old I entered the Yehudi Menuhin school and am currently in my final year at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Some of my most meaningful concert experiences have been at the small chamber music festival I organise every year in the villages of the Cotentin in Normandy, France. I invite many of my aspiring musician friends as well as professionals to perform, and over the last five years we have played to thousands of audience members.
One audience member was so enthralled by a performance of Brahms that he offered to contribute towards the cost of professionally producing a recording, which is scheduled for the end of this month. The music will include Brahms's piano quartet Op.60, Hindemith's viola sonata Op.11 No.4 and Penderecki's cadenza for Solo Viola.
We have a world class recording studio (Potton Hall), sound engineer (Adam Binks) and two of the most outstanding professionals of their generation have agreed to play: Boris Kucharsky (Violin) and Thomas Caroll (Cello). This recording would serve both as a major help for the festival and for our young careers, allowing us to share our art form widely in a way that is truthful to how we sound live (smart phone recordings are yet to replace sound engineers), creating something of real merit, which will last forever. By donating you would help us to make an important to step into the public eye; once the album is finished we will aim to get it reviewed in newspapers, classical music magazines and brought to the attention of well known critics.
The costs are of course very high for such a project. These funds would greatly help us to complete the financing of the album, which includes the cost of recording, editing, the studio, musician's costs/travel expenses, and post production.
It would mean a lot to us if you were to help us on our journey, and any donation no matter how small is truly appreciated. I will of course be very happy to give a copy of the album to anyone who donates.
