Hi I'm Pronoy Samanta, a devoted son who is fighting a battle no one should ever have to face alone. My mother, Priya Samanta (56), suffered a severe brain stroke on January 24, 2025, and has since been in critical condition.

Currently my mother, Priya is under treatment at Health Adda Hospital, Hyderabad, after being re-admitted due to her worsening condition. She has been on ventilation support, battling aspiration pneumonia and neurological impairments, while her family struggles to cover the soaring medical expenses.

Priya’s Condition & Symptoms

A brain stroke occurs when the blood supply to the brain is disrupted, leading to severe damage and impairment. The conditions have caused her to suffer from:

Weakness

Slurred speech

Breathing difficulties requiring mechanical ventilation

Aspiration pneumonia, leading to severe lung infection

The Treatment & Urgent Need for Funds

Priya is currently undergoing:

Intensive ICU care with round-the-clock monitoring

Mechanical ventilation/bipap to support her breathing

Continuous neurological assessment to manage stroke complications

My struggles

I've had to put my career on hold due to my mother, Priya's, illness. As the primary earning member of my family, I was working as a Cluster Manager for a startup. However, my mother's condition required my full attention, and I couldn't bear to leave her side. I made the difficult decision to leave my job and devote all my time and resources to caring for her. It's been a challenging journey, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. My mother's health and well-being mean everything to me.

To make matters worse, my sister's health has also been affected by the sudden hospitalization of our mother. The stress and anxiety of seeing our mother in a fragile state have taken a toll on her well-being.

Furthermore, my father, a retired individual, has been struggling with hypertension. The added worry of my mother's health has only exacerbated his condition, making it challenging for him to cope with the situation.

Funds utilization

The funds raised will be utilized to cover the costs of intensive care facilities and medical necessities for my mother's treatment. Specifically, the funds will be allocated towards:

- Intensive care unit (ICU) expenses

- Medical disposables and equipment

- Medications and other essential medical necessities

We've exhausted all our resources and have sold virtually everything we owned to cover my mother's medical expenses.
