Notre Concept
Le collectif Innovate 257 lance le concours Innovate à l’issue duquel sera décerné un prix Innovation à un groupe d’étudiants Burundais pour récompenser leur réflexion autour d’un des grands enjeux auxquels sera confronté le monde dans les 50 prochaines années.
L’idée est d’encourager les futurs acteurs de la vie économique, politique et sociale du Burundi qui sont aujourd’hui sur le banc de l’école/université à penser à ce que sera l’avenir en se munissant d’idées novatrices.
Nos Objectifs
Les fonds récoltés serviront à constituer des bourses d’étude qui seront versées en douze mensualités aux lauréats du concours Innovate 257*.
Les lauréats seront également accompagnés en entrepreneuriat afin qu’ils mûrissent leurs projets durant leur cursus académique et seront jumelés à un mentor du collectif Innovate 257.
Les bénéficiaires des fonds seront concrètement des étudiants venant de terminer la 1ère année de l’université du Burundi, dans la Faculté des Sciences Economiques et Gestion.
L’objectif fixé pour la fin de la collecte est fin Juin 2019 afin d’ouvrir les bourses aux lauréats au début de l’année académique.

Contexte
Connu comme le «cœur de l’Afrique», le Burundi est un pays enclavé dans la région des Grands Lacs africains, en Afrique de l’Est, bordé par le Rwanda, la Tanzanie et la République démocratique du Congo. Le Burundi est divisé en 18 provinces, avec pour capitale Gitega. Les principales langues du Burundi sont le Kirundi, le Swahili, et le Français et l’Anglais. Vous le connaissez peut être à travers les légendaires Ingoma, qui ont raisonné entre autres dans Black Panther, ou encore par sa danse traditionnelle.
Qu’en est-il actuellement ?
Le développement du Burundi a été fortement entravé par la guerre civile de 1993 à 2003. Jusqu’à présent, le pays peine à redynamiser son économie. Il est certainement l’un des pays où il faut investir le plus d’effort pour satisfaire aux 17 objectifs de développement durable définis par les Etats membres des Nations Unies, que le collectif Innovate 257 aborde à travers les thèmes du concours Innovate 257.

Our Concept
The Innovate 257 Community is launching a contest, which will award the Innovation Prize to a group of Burundian students to reward them on their innovative strategies addressing some of the major issues that the world will face in the next 50 years.
Our Goal
The goal of this contest is to encourage students to reflect on innovative strategies that will ensure a bright future for Burundi across the economic, political and social sectors.
The funds raised will be used to award scholarships which will be paid in twelve monthly installments to the winners of the Innovate 257 * contest.
The beneficiaries of the funds will be students who have completed their freshman year at the University of Burundi, in the Faculty of Economics and Management.
As the winners mature their projects during their academic courses, they will be supported through entrepreneurship courses and will be matched with mentors from the Innovate 257 community.
The end of the fundraiser is set for the end of June 2019. This is done in order to award the scholarships at the beginning of the academic year which is set to begin.

Background
Known as the ´heart of Africa´, Burundi is a landlocked country in the African Great Lakes region of East Africa, bordered by Rwanda, Tanzania, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Burundi is divided into 18 provinces, with its capital in Gitega. While the primary languages of Burundi are Kirundi, Swahili, and French, the primary language of business throughout Africa is English.
The development of Burundi was severely hampered by the civil war from 1993 to 2003. Although Burundi currently ranks among the poorest countries in the world, the country is working hard on revitalizing its economy. It is certainly one of the countries at the crossroads of the 17 sustainable development goals defined by the UN Member States, which the Innovate 257 Community tackles through the themes of the Innovate 257 competition
