I’m James, Jade’s husband, I’ve decided to create a Go Fund Me page for her. As a lot of her friends will be aware Jade has multiple health conditions, had cancer and family history of cancer also.
The first issue I’m trying to raise money for:
Jade was diagnosed with De Quervains in her left wrist 2 years ago, she needed injections to resolve the problem, which worked for a while but she became immune to them and now faces surgery. She was in hospital last week where she was told she needed surgery. Today she has been told she will be lucky if she has surgery before next October 2021 (I’m not sure she can go another week in the level of pain she is in). She’s spent all day today contacting medical insurance companies and applying for loans but nothing! We have spoken to a local private hospital who can get her in and have surgery by the end of this October but it will cost £3500! Not money we have lying around! This is the main concern right now. She is on so many pain medications for this alone but nothing is working. The surgery has an extremely high success rate and we know this will be a permanent fix. If left untreated for a certain period of time, there can be permanent damage.
The second: if I raise more money than the surgery for De Quervains, I want to pay for Jade to get the Cancer genetic testing and a full mastectomy that Jade wishes to have. Jade has a long line of breast cancer in her family, with many members passing from it. We already know she is high risk, by the hospital itself. Jade made the decision she wanted a full mastectomy last year when she had cancer! We’ve been told there is a 1-2 year wait to have the genetic testing done, and a further 3-5 year wait for surgery. This surgery costs a fraction of full breast cancer treatment and also has a 90% reduced risk of getting breast cancer which I know is something that plays a lot on Jade’s mind, especially after having cancer. These are difficult time’s, we totally appreciate that, but these are two very serious issues that need addressing.
