Printer for 1st Year College Student in Ghana
Meet Mathias Duut. He is a former foreign exchange student from Ghana who attended Harrisville CSD. Although he received a full scholarship to attend Hardin-Simmons University in TX beginning this fall, COVID forced him to divert his original plan. He was supposed to move to the states and start freshman year in person. Instead, while we all wait for the pandemic to slow down and he waits for the approval of his student visa, Mathias must spend his freshman year, like so many of us, learning from a computer. Mathias recently reached out to me and made me aware that much of his course work (Which is mainly math and science as he is Pre-Med) requires him to print material to complete and scan back in to submit. Because of this, Mathias is in desperate need of a printer/scanner and he personally asked me if I would be able to help him out. Unfortunately, Ghana is not the easiest, or cheapest place to purchase a printer/scanner... he admitted that they go for about $150-200 a piece. Being a teacher with my own expenses and children, I am finding it difficult to find a way to do it alone. Therefore, I am reaching out to you. I am looking for enough to cover the cost of the printer/scanner and any possible rushed shipping that can be done. I am currently in contact with Amazon to see if they’re able to deliver to him. If not, I will transfer funds to him via paypal or western union - so any extra will go to any other fees that occur.
Mathias is an exceptionally gifted, kind, funny and friendly individual. Any little bit towards this would help significantly. I Thank you! And Mathias thanks you!
