Princeton Moore Memorial Fund - Kids UPDATE 2022

UPDATE: We bought a house!!!

First, we want to take this opportunity again to thank you for your generosity in 2019 when Jeo, Ma’at, and Ptah lost their father. These children are so amazing and resilient, and while I still see them have their bad days, they are thriving while doing well in school and in their activities.

I am so proud of Monik for her focus and commitment to keeping her children well while also focusing on preparing herself financially to purchase a home. This process and the last two years have been … a lot! But we made it through, and have closed on a spacious home in the Houston, Texas area.

This will be the third move in three years for the children, but they are excited and looking forward to moving into their own home where they will have their own rooms and a fresh start. What we want more than anything is stability for the kids.

(Watch the video to hear a personal message from the kids)

Ptah is 4 now and still boggling our minds with his reading and math skills. He usually has to be removed from the room while Ma’at is doing her homework because he is too fast to give away the answers! He is really looking forward to doing soccer when they move. He has been too young to participate up until now, but whenever he goes to track practice with Ma’at he does the drills and runs with the team.

Ma’at is 6. She has been doing track and dance and continuing to model. She graduated from Kindergarten this week and made the honor roll. Ma’at is such an amazing angel. She was so close to her dad, yet her young spirit guides her to stay positive, keep going, and to do her best. When she feels sad, she reminds herself on her own that she wants to just have a good day.

Jeo is 12. He is also an honor roll student and finished the 6th grade this June. He stands out as a leader at his school and the teachers often looked his way to inspire other students. He is an amazing big brother and a great help to his mom. He’s looking forward to starting basketball again and also doing track.

Princeton and Monik always planned to relocate their family to Texas where they’d be able to afford to buy. Monik was determined to carry out those plans, especially with the uncertain housing situation she faced in the last two years. Our family has always been here to support her, but she and the children faced the possibility of literally having nowhere to live more than once. And until now they have not had a place that they felt was their own. This home purchase is more than a blessing. It is a huge relief, a chance for the children to finally be settled, and have space to grieve for their dad and great-grandfather who they also lost this year. We try our best to keep them active and focused on the positives in their lives, and there is so much to be grateful for.

While they are leaving behind family and their home, Houston offers a very different culture than California, affordability, a quality school district for the children, and of course a home that they now own in a safe and comfortable neighborhood.

We still need help with moving expenses including plane tickets, beds and furniture, household items, and funds for ongoing sports and activities for the children.

Again, our family deeply appreciates the support that you were already so generous to provide, and we will be so thankful for whatever contribution you might make, however small or large, to help us get over this next hurdle. Please also share this update with your network if you can, and send us your prayers and positive thoughts!

Thank you again!!

– Imani

We have lost one of the special lights in our lives.  Princeton had a beautiful light that touched us deeply.  Now he leaves a legacy of  3 young children. If you can spare making a donation to help cover costs, you can do so here. We are so grateful for the outpouring of support that we have already received.

One of the things that we are most proud of Princeton for is that he worked hard so that his children could have a stay-at-home mom who home schools all three children. These kids are brilliant and their potential is unlimited. Jeo, 10, plays all sports and has a brilliant mind. Ma’at is 3 and excels at gymnastics, ballet and modeling. She adored her dad.  Ptah just turned 2, but can already read and is so deeply focused on learning, it’s incredible.

As a father and partner, PJ was present and involved. He was a chef, a caretaker, a dad who coached, read stories and made life amazing for his partner and children.  He was also a help and blessing to his mother, grandparents, and all of us. He truly valued family and showed it through actions.

Losing PJ leaves a gaping hole which goes far beyond financially supporting a family of five. The loss of his emotional support, unconditional love and partnership to Monik is unbearable. We will forever struggle to understand the divine plan behind taking him away.

We look into the eyes of his babies and pray that as a family we can continue to nurture their potential and keep them lifted.

Please consider donating, any amount, if you are able to do so.

About this Campaign:

The following update of information is required to make the generous donations that our family has received available to the Moore family.

This campaign was set up by Imani Lea Brown.  I am a cousin of Princeton Moore from East Palo Alto California. I am very close to the family and helping in all ways while they transition through this difficult time.  Princeton's mother, sister, life partner, and uncles specifically requested that I set up the account myself and manage the resulting donations.

All donations will be placed toward memorial services,  housing, food, clothing, supplies and additional help for the partner and children of Princeton Moore.  Imani Lea Brown will be withdrawing the funds and holding them in a dedicated savings account which has already been set aside to handle these affairs.  When funds are needed they will be delivered to the family by Imani Lea Brown
