My name is Kim-Anne, and I am raising funds to build something I never imagined my dog would need:
 
An outdoor space specifically designed around her medical limitations so she can safely experience the outside world again.
 
Her name is Princess Peach Hope Grace Dodd, and before I explain what we're trying to build, I need to explain why Peach's allergies are very different from what most people picture when they hear, “My dog has allergies.”
 
Because I completely understand how that sounds.
 
Lots of dogs have allergies.
 
They lick their paws. They get itchy during certain seasons. They take medication, change foods, get special shampoos, and continue going outside.
 
That is not what is happening to Peach.
 
Peach is a former Ridglan laboratory beagle who spent almost seven years inside a research breeding facility.
 
Before she was Princess Peach, she was identified by tattoos:
 
CTU9 in her ear.
 
WIAE on her belly.
 
She spent almost seven years without a backyard, without walks through the neighborhood, and without the ordinary outdoor life most dogs experience from puppyhood.
 
On May 2, 2026, Peach saw sunshine for the first time.
 
On June 6, 2026, we brought her home.
 
That was the first day her paws ever touched grass.
 
And within weeks, the outside world she had waited almost seven years to discover became medically unsafe for her.
 
THIS ISN'T A TYPICAL CASE OF DOG ALLERGIES.
 
Since Peach came home, we have been fighting significant medical problems involving her skin and paws.
 
Her feet have become painfully inflamed and swollen. She has battled persistent bacterial pyoderma and infections requiring veterinary treatment. At times, the inflammation and infection in her paws have been so severe that simply keeping them comfortable has become an ongoing medical challenge.
 
Extensive allergy testing revealed that Peach reacts to numerous environmental allergens—including grasses, trees, pollens, yeast and other things that are extraordinarily difficult to avoid in Florida.
 
This isn't simply a matter of changing her food.
 
We can't just remove one plant from the backyard.
 
We can't wipe her paws after a walk and call it good.
 
The environment itself is part of the problem.
 
Her medical team has treated her with multiple medications, including steroids, and we are now beginning allergen-specific immunotherapy in hopes of teaching her immune system to tolerate the world around her.
 
And right now, while we work toward getting her body under control, Peach is not allowed normal outdoor access.
 
That means no playing in our yard.
 
No wandering through the grass.
 
No lying outside in the sunshine.
 
No ordinary potty trip across the lawn.
 
When Peach needs to go between our house and the car, I carry her.
 
This is the reality we're living with.
 
And perhaps the hardest part is that Peach remembers outside.
 
Sometimes she stands at our window and looks through the glass.
 
Her tail starts wagging.
 
She wants to go.
 
She doesn't understand why Mama won't open the door.
 
She doesn't understand immunotherapy or bacterial infections or environmental allergens.
 
She doesn't understand that I'm keeping her inside because I love her.
 
She only knows that after almost seven years inside a laboratory, somebody finally opened the door to an enormous new world…
 
and then the door closed again.
 
That is why we're trying to build Princess Peach's Allergy-Safe Outdoor Kingdom.
 
This isn't about giving our dog a fancy backyard.
 
This is about creating an outdoor accommodation for a dog whose medical condition currently prevents her from safely using a normal one.
 
We have been working with professionals to design a dedicated area using professionally installed synthetic turf rather than the natural grasses and vegetation that contribute to her reactions.
 
The project would include the preparation, materials and installation necessary to transform the space from ordinary Florida ground into an environment designed specifically around Peach's medical needs.
 
And once we have it, I want Peach to do all the ridiculously ordinary things dogs are supposed to be able to do.
 
I want her to walk out the door on her own four feet instead of being carried.
 
I want her to stand in the sunshine.
 
I want to watch that little beagle nose go straight into the air and smell everything.
 
I want her to wander around with absolutely nowhere she needs to go.
 
I want her to find the perfect spot and lie down.
 
I want her to play.
 
I want her to explore.
 
I want her to decide when she's ready to go back inside.
 
I want her to have choices.
 
Because for almost seven years, Peach didn't have many.
 
And somehow, despite everything her body is fighting, Peach has absolutely fallen in love with being alive.
 
She has become our dojo dog, coming to the martial arts academy with Mama and Daddy.
 
She celebrates Taco Tuesdays.
 
She rides through the world in her Royal Carriage.
 
She's learning about toys and fuzzy blankets.
 
She's learning about couches and car rides.
 
She's learning about cats and other dogs.
 
She's learning that hands can be gentle.
 
That people can be safe.
 
That food will come again tomorrow.
 
That Mama and Daddy leave—and then come back.
 
That she has a name.
 
That she has a family.
 
That she belongs.
 
She's learning how to be a dog.
 
And I don't want the world outside our window to be the one part of being a dog that I can't give her.
 
Peach already waited almost seven years.
 
I don't want her to spend whatever comes next waiting again.
