Hello! My name is Jana -- I'm a mother of 5 and a teacher to grades 5-9. Leukemia, a cancer of the body's blood-forming tissues, is one of the top cancers for children under the age of 15. I was 8-years-old when I first learned about Leukemia because it took one of my friends. I was 20 when it took my best friend.
One of my students is currently in the hospital fighting Leukemia for the second time in three years. As a parent, teacher, and friend, I want to honor him by helping the children he now shares hospital space with. The hospital has beds for 289 patients, and it is my goal to get sponsors for each.
THANK YOU for considering sponsoring a child/children this spring and for partnering with me to help kids who are displaced from their homes, fighting for their lives, and trying to keep up with their peers in their education.
A $35 donation is matched so that each child will receive one gift of educational books and activities valued at $50. If you choose to sponsor more, $105 sponsors 3 children. Any amount helps, so if $35 is too much for your budget, donate what you can!
