Prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome

Donation protected
It appears I stumbled into a major medical discovery in SIDS. Also, sudden unexpected deaths in children (SUDC), adults (sudden cardiac death) and epilepsy (SUDEP).

I'm Dr. Dov Jordan Gebien and have co-authored 7 scientific papers in 2024 regarding a boy with recurrent nocturnal respiratory arrests from a previously unrecognized cause of sudden unexpected deaths in children. We have termed it, "diaphragm cramp-contracture", and it's not much different than a limb muscle cramp except it paralyzes the primary respiratory muscle.

The story how he survived it is incredible. More importantly, it is vital to get this new information to stakeholders like SIDS researchers, neonatal doctors and research organizations. This is harder than it sounds. Sadly, many experts in the field are not open to exploring new ideas despite the case report and extremely compelling literature support. I have spent countless hours over the past two years outreaching but have little to show for it.

Each of these papers will cost roughly $2000 to publish. Unlike other SIDS researchers, I am not affiliated with a research organization or hospital, which normally covers the costs. So, this is why I'm reaching out for your support.

The primary image for this fundraiser is a flow diagram linking SIDS risk factors to diaphragm fatigue and cramp. The literature evidence supporting this hypothesis is highly compelling but is based on a solitary patient (N = 1) and needs to be reproduced in a laboratory to prove its existence. That's the goal of the research papers and this fundraiser, so we can ultimately prevent diaphragm cramp-contracture in sleeping infants.

There's more to the story...

The reason why a practicing physician can't afford the publication fees is because I've had 3 back surgeries in the past year alone. I'm limited in my ability to sit for longer than 4-5 hours at a time (at a quiet medical practice) due to back pain.

The benefits to donors...

It's only a matter of time in my opinion before this discovery is out. Perhaps another year or two. But once it does, you will be rewarded for helping this noble cause.

GOLD: Donations over $250.
SILVER: Over $100
BRONZE: Over $25

Of course, anything less would still be greatly appreciated and you will be rewarded too. :)

Love to all! Thank you for considering!
