Hello my name is Brand Johnson, I’m married with 3-children, 2 of which live still live at home with us. They are the ages of 10yr old & 15yrs old who are amazing children who truly DONT DESERVE to be homeless especially in this cold weather!! So, the home we’re currently living at as of right now just until 1/17/2025 we have been residing here at this home for the last 3-years & we loved it all except for our Landlord that rented us this home unexpectedly passed away back in mid November 2024 well, his son has now taking over since then & id say about the middle of December we had gotten a summons on our door with our landlord son taking us to court trying to throw us out literally right at Christmas & New Years & plus it being this cold outside & him knowing I have minors living in our home who deserve to have a Christmas just like any other children, him also knowing we don’t have many family members especially family members who can afford to pile my family of 4 along with our 2-fur babies in there home with them for sometime. Well he seemed to NOT care what so ever. So we literally went to court 2-days ago & the judge was not trying to hear ANYTHING I had to say he said I give you and your family 10-days from today(which was 2-days ago) to give this landlord possession of his property. In the meantime while I was truly thinking “awe it’ll be okay he should have to give us atleast 30-days considering we have minors in our home” well NOPE that did not matter to this judge at all what so ever! However my landlord’s son who has now taken over since his Dad passed away went in court and told the judge that it was in his fathers “WILL” that as soon as he passed away that my home ONLY now out 56-properties he owns now mind you that my house & my house ONLY. Was the only one that was in the will to sell it immediately! & He told the judge that the “NEW OWNERS WANTED MY HOME EMPTY” which is all bull crap too me he isn’t selling this house! The truth is he wants to jack the rent up another 1500 bucks extra a month on top of the 1200 that they already charge and it’s due to the casino being 2-mins down the road I’m sure! I have been looking for places y’all I have been on Zillow & Craig’s list and I’ve paid close to $200 bucks just in these crazy “Application Fees” that these owners now charge! Well soon as I’ve paid for these application fees the very next day we receive emails stating “Oh we’re sorry for any inconvenience however this property has NOW been rented. Good luck on find your new home”

Well with that being said we just don’t have the funds to rent a U-Haul truck, rent a storage unit, put all of everything we own in a storage unit, on top of paying for a motel for next couple months to we do or able to find us a home, plus being able to afford a deposit & first months rent when we do find us a home! It’s just IMPOSSIBLE for my family to be able to come up with a lump some of cash like this especially unexpected like this. However my husband and I do both currently work and can pay our monthly bills, we are just really struggling on coming up with a lump some of cash all at once… Truly I HATE to even set up this go fund me page it truly breaks my heart that I have to do so. But, when I have to sit & watch my children cry & stress over where there gonna lay there head. & then they ask “Mom/Dad, what are we gonna do? We don’t wanna have to live in a motel this & that! It’s breaks my whole heart so bad for the simple fact it makes me feel like we’re failing as parents and etc! When we work our butts off everyday and bust our butts to try and give our children the best life that we possibly can provide for them! So I’m asking if you could please share this and pass it along, my family would greatly appreciate it and any little thing can and will help!
