Preston's Hearing Aid BAHA Surgery

Our dear friends, Tim and Lorna Walker are parents to an amazing set of 5 year old twin boys, Preston and Reid. Preston has been traveling back and forth to Cincinnati since he was 13 months old to be seen by a specialty airway doctor. They found out last week while in Cincinnati for Preston's airway procedure follow up appointment that insurance denied 100% of his hearing aid surgery. He was not only born with airway complications, but a series of deformaties in the right ear. The surgery is scheduled for next Friday to place a titanium post in his skull to allow a BAHA hearing device to sit up against his bone behind his right ear. This will allow him to to no longer need the headband to hold his device, thus allowing him to hear at 100% without limiting his ability to be an active 5 1/2 year old boy . The Walkers were on a high from a good report of complete healing of his airway (after 2 full reconstruction surgeries of his airway) to a total low being faced with canceling the surgery as it is a $28,000 procedure that would have to be paid in full up front. (The surgery is less than 2 weeks away!)  They have been in the appeal process since the day they found out they were denied. As parents who have been preparing their child for a surgery he was excited about, this is devistating. This has been a surgery they have planned on since he was 5 months old. Lots of preparation, planning and prayers have gone into this. We are on a mission to help this sweet family go through with the surgery they have planned on for his entire life without having to cancel. Any contribution and prayers are appreciated. It has been a lengthy and exhausting process. This is not just an 'elective' surgery for Preston. It is an auditory device he desperately needs for his speech and hearing to be at 100%. He was not able to speak until 3 years of age so this is imperative for him to continue to make progress.
Preston is a happy 5 year old boy with an infectious smile. He loves legos, his imaginary spy buddies, going to school with his new kindergarten friends and most of all his best friend and twin brother, Reid.
