Preston Thompson Family

On June 29th, Preston Thompson of Preston Thompson Guitars in Sisters, Oregon underwent serious surgery at Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU) in Portland. Unfortunately, his surgery resulted in complications and required additional surgeries and life support.
Preston was in the OHSU Intensive Care Unit for over 50 days and still remains in the hospital with complications. His recovery has been slow and he will still need months of rehabilitation after he is discharged from the hospital.
Preston and his wife Julie live in beautiful Bend, Oregon, over 3 hours away from OHSU. Julie has had to take a leave of absence from her job to remain with Preston at OHSU. This entails her having to make numerous trips over the Cascade Mountains and find temporary lodging in Portland.
Preston’s daughter along with wonderful friends have been an enormous source of encouragement during this time, and give Preston the motivation to get stronger every day.
Preston has a goal. It is to get home and resume working with his fantastic Thompson Guitar crew. Building exceptional guitars has been his passion since he began Thompson Guitars over 30 years ago.
The family wants to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, texts, and well wishes. Donations will directly help offset medical and travel expenses. Every little bit helps. Thank you all for your love and kindness.
