Preserve Old Biloxi Cemetery Gravestones

Donation protected
Preserve Biloxi needs your help with the ongoing preservation of headstones in the Old Biloxi Cemetery in Biloxi, MS.

Due to current social distancing requirements, we will be unable to present our annual LIVE portrayal of local residents who had a large impact on the City of Biloxi, but have since passed away.

We know how much everyone enjoys this event and we truly appreciate your support!

The theme for this year's Cemetery Tours is:  "Family Legends & Lore 2"

We have some really great portrayals this year!

**Verta Lee Bosarge Swetman was a U.S. Commissioner
**Wilhelm Wallis hailed from Germany
**Nicholas Christian Ladner lived and raised children on Cat Island
Seafood workers Ida Champeaux and Teresa Ewing
**Paul Taconi was a charter boat captain with a "Whale of a Tale"
**Henry C. Agregaard was seafood retailer
**Miss Leda Anglada, who is lovingly remembered as Miss Howard Ave.
**John Amazon Becnel was a Civil Engineer for the City of Biloxi
**Lessaint Broussard was a fisherman

The Biloxi Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in MS, and the U.S.  The preservation of the oldest graves is imperative to this public, sacred place which holds the history of all native Biloxians.

Our goal is $6,000 and all monies raised will be used to save crumbling, historic burial sites within the Biloxi Cemetery.

Preserve Biloxi produces the annual "Old Biloxi Cemetery Tour" each October.

This event will be broadcast on Tuesday, October 27 at 7 P.M. on the following Biloxi TV stations:
**biloxi.ms.us/btv
**Sparklight, ch 56
**AT&T Uverse, ch 99
**discover.biloxi.ms.us/old-biloxi-cememtery-tour/
