Preserve Indigenous Wisdom in Peru

One morning I heard the sounds of chainsaws cutting down virgin forest land. I ran to the sound and begged the loggers to stop cutting down the trees.When questioned why, I said that i would buy the land. This stopped the logging and prompted me to start on a mission to save the lungs of the earth and raise money to do so. 

 This project has brought me on an amazing adventure to the Amazon, where I have met Lucia and Leonardo, 2 
powerful shamans from the Shipibo Tribe. 

This time has birthed Shakruna Clothing and 
Community Based Projects, an organisation created to 
save the lungs of the earth and its indigenous healers.

 We have been working with 50 families in the Amazon 
basin to make beautiful clothes that are hand 
embroidered with the visions seen on a voyage into the plant world of Ayahuasca. The sale of these clothes has to date funded the preservation of 15 hectares of jungle 
lands, the construction of a maloca (temple)where the shamans live, the construction of a volunteer shelter and kitchen so that as many Westerners as possible can 
come and stay in comfort to received their healing and 
the replanting of both Ayahuasca and Shakruna to 
compensate for their rapid depletion in the world. 

 The effect of deforestation has been devastating to all 
of the Shipibo residing along the banks of the Ucayali 
River. The majority of the tribes people have lost their traditions and culture in a bid to survive following its 
effects. Of the tribes people we have met, Leonardo and Lucia are still upholding the old ways and this is why we are putting together this application for them.

 Leonardo is 83 and has been working with the 
medicinal plants of the jungle for the last 70 years. Lucia is 26 and has been studying under her father for the last 4 years. Their knowledge of the medicinal plants to be 
found in the jungle is immense and with it they can cure any imbalance.  

 Their dream is to heal as many of us as possible and to 
raise the vibrational frequency of the world. They understand to a very deep level how affected and sick 
we have become as a result of our modern way of living and that is is not sustainable for the individual or the 
planet that we share. 

 In order to realise their dream they wish to build a 
healing centre deep in the jungle. All we need for this is 
the materials to make it happen.

 Shakruna clothing and community based projects 
believes deeply in the power of people in order to enforce change. For the last 6 months we have been coordinating a volunteer program to achieve what we have done so far. This program is ready and raring to build, with
 interested volunteers from all over the globe! The 
husband of Lucia is a master builder and can lead this 
project to its fruition. 

The money will be spent on materials needed to build a Maloca ( temple) and 3 living quarters surrounding it. 
This is all the wood, transportation and nails needed!!In addtion it will fund everything needed to weclome guests in comfort.

 We would be extremely grateful to raise this money for the family and for the world. Leonardo is now 83 and he told us recently that he would like to see this built in his 
lifetime. In this community, he, the shaman, is the keeper of all the sacred knowledge and this he is passing on 
daily to his daughter. Through the centre this knowledge will be passed onto the world and therefore never lost.

 Due to his old age we would like to raised this money as soon as possible! Ideally in the next 2 months, This way, Leonardo will be able to see his daughter and his 
indigenous wisdom safe, “before I go”
