Preckwinkle Family Recovery Fund

Andy and Cathy Preckwinkle were long time residents of Rockport when Hurricane Harvey blew through and destroyed their house and everything in it.  The roof is gone and everything that they were forced to leave behind when they evacuated--furniture, clothes, household items-- was destroyed.  


Cathy and their son, Bruce, have been unemployed since the hurricane because their workplaces were destroyed.  Andy's job is still there, but he recently was hospitalized and is anticipating surgery for kidney stones. 

They have all been staying with friends in Kingsville, but they need to get back to Rockport so that Andy can get to work when he is released from the hospital. They have worked very hard to clear the debris from their lot and have installed a new electric pole so that they can get power restored to the property.   They are seeking help from FEMA and the SBA but are not sure if or when they will receive it. In the meantime, they need a place to live.



They are hoping to buy a used mobile home to put on their lot as soon as possible so that they can live there while rebuilding their home, or find a more permanent solution.  As you can imagine, mobile homes are in short supply in the area and sell quickly when advertised.  If we, friends of Cathy, Andy, and Bruce, can raise $10,000 for them, they will be able to make an offer on a mobile home when one becomes available.  

We have all seen the destruction in Rockport and surrounding areas and wondered, "What can I do?" Here is one concrete way to help friends and neighbors in need.  Any amount will help and every cent will go to putting a roof over their heads.   Please donate what you can today.
