Precious Ruby: Medical, Funeral, & Financial Help

Please help us support parents, Mark and Rebecca, as they go through what no parent should ever have to.

Very early Sunday morning on May 29th, Mommy went into labor that progressed very rapidly over 4 hours, and something seemed wrong. Daddy rushed her to the hospital just in time: she experienced a uterine rupture at the ER entrance. Little Miss Ruby was delivered one day before her due date in St. Mary’s County Maryland via emergency c-section – she was born lifeless. She immediately received CPR and was resuscitated after 20 minutes. She required a ventilator, blood, and additional emergency care.

Due to her extreme needs and complications, Ruby (and Mommy) were life-flighted by helicopter to D.C. where Ruby was admitted to Children’s National Hospital NICU. After receiving intensive and phenomenal treatment in attempt to reduce swelling and injury to her brain, an MRI revealed that Ruby had suffered irreparable brain damage.

On Tuesday, June 7th, after spending 9 days in the NICU, God’s plan for beautiful Ruby was revealed. She was welcomed into Heaven by His grace while being held by her loving parents. While Mommy and Daddy are devastated and painfully grieving, they are finding peace in their faith and through the support of friends and family. Because Ruby was baptized during her time here, she has undoubtedly joined the Communion of Saints. She will be watching over her parents and older sister.

While prayers remain the most important need, there is also need for assistance with the impending medical bills, funeral expenses, and financial strain that Ruby’s family is experiencing. Any form of help is sincerely appreciated by her family during this overwhelming time. Thank you so much.
